Commissioners Approve New Development Plan for Waldorf, MD

On April 13, 2010 the Charles County Commissioners unaminmously voted to adopt the Waldorf Urban Design Study legislation package.  This plan will change development in the downtown Waldorf area from strip commercial development to mixed-use.  The goal is to create a walkable community that will be more conducive to mass transit in the future.  The Waldorf areas that will be affected begin north of Acton Lane and continues south of Leonardtown Road.  It will also cover the areas between Crain Highway (rt. 301) and the railroad tracks.
